about
The opening track "Possessed" reveals our main character; a young boy born and raised in a little village deep in the woods.
During his childhood and into adolescence, he constantly struggles with sickening thoughts,
involuntary twitches and even voices in his mind during nighttime.
With no help to get in the religious and enclosed village that frowns upon being "Different", he has no other choice than
to keep the problem to himself which leads to insanity.
lyrics
I shouldn't sleep, I'll wake up on the other side
I cannot eat, I'm not clean
No rest, I've been bad, I need to repent
confess, I'm possessed
Nightmare
But I can't tell anyone
I'm on my own
reject, neglect
Nightmare
But I can't tell anyone
I'm on my own
reject, neglect
They're looking over my shoulder
eyes in the dark, everywhere, they watch, they stare
I seek refuge in the streets at night
in the alleys, clear of the lights, their eyes and obedient minds
fast heart rate, looming in the shadows
until my escape comes to end
night turns to day, my body aches and swells
I fall asleep, through a portal to hell
red eyes
grinding teeth
in my mind there's a portal to hell
I shouldn't sleep, I'll wake up on the other side
I can't eat, I'm not clean
No rest, I've been bad, I need to repent,
confess, I'm possessed
shut your mouth
shut your ear
shut your fucking face
you didn't see nor hear
I'll peel your eyes
I'll cut your ears
I will rip out your tongue
so you won't tell anyone
Nightmare
But I can't tell anyone
I'm on my own
reject, neglect
Nightmare
But I can't tell anyone
I'm on my own
reject, neglect
Nightmare
But I can't tell anyone
I'm on my own
reject, neglect
Nightmare
But I can't tell anyone
I'm on my own
reject, neglect

Atena have pushed through to become the forefronters of norwegian metalcore as
well as proving there’s more than black metal that roams in the country by extensive touring through Europe.
With a deep inspiration from hip hop, classical composers and love for heavy music the band entwine these elements together with lyrics of darker episodes that occurs through life....more
Quite possibly the most full-on album I've ever listened to. Intense, and then some. 'Digital Tarpit' could describe both the track and the whole album: high-pitched guitar squeals that make your fillings itch coupled with merciless, suffocating heaviness. The Avenell-esque vocals top it off perfectly.
Brilliant - punishing, but brilliant. jim_fuego
Not a fan of the new album but this Polaris album is just what I love about metalcore. Saw them live in CH last year and on stage they are amazing. If you're new to Polaris (doubt it) start here ! sachavonkarl74
I was quickly overwhelmed the moment I listened to "Interlude." Oriental atmosphere reminiscent of Egypt is very intertwined through all. Supreme Truth has something in common with Linkin Park's Meteora. Catsfist
